Reviewed September 24, 2026 against Tella's official features and RecFlow's current beta documentation. Also checked: Tella editor features. Unverified means we could not confirm support from that source; it does not mean unavailable. Plan limits and features can change. RecFlow streaming remains experimental.
Choose RecFlow for a local finishing pass
For a founder recording an unreleased feature, the useful question is whether the workflow keeps the project under your control. RecFlow stores the take and edit data on your Mac, lets you revise zooms and cursor treatment, and generates captions locally. Review your export before uploading it to your launch page, social account, or help center.
Choose Tella when sharing is part of the edit
Tella offers share links, viewer analytics, and shared workspaces. Its editor includes transcript editing and automatic cleanup. Those tools may suit a team that reviews and publishes recordings together.
A practical comparison for your next launch
Record the same short onboarding flow in each app. Correct one missed zoom, adjust the camera layout, and deliver the final clip. Compare the time spent making the changes you actually need, then decide whether you want a local export or a hosted review workflow.
What to check before switching
Keep your existing recordings and exports. This comparison does not promise project migration between the two editors. Try RecFlow on one new take first, and use the installation guide if macOS blocks launch.
